Eastern Connecticut State University's SNATS represents the National Association of Teachers of Singing, educating members of Eastern’s community interested in classical voice practices. SNATS participates in collaboration field trips such as their annual trip to New York metropolitan opera house, as well as community activities and events including Holiday Karaoke, SNATS music Cabaret, and singing competitions. SNATS offers a space for singers and musicians across campus. SNATS meets right on campus in the Fine Arts Instructional Center in room 115 every other Wednesday at 6:45pm. SNATS has been a part of campus for over twenty years!
When asking President Heather Tusch, “What do you hope members involved get out of joining SNATS?”
Tusch answers “I hope for people learn more about the vocal department here at Eastern and have fun participating in our campus events!”
“What are some of your favorite memories from being in SNATS?”
Tusch says, “The first one that stood out to me was last year’s Karaoke night. We had worked very hard to get the club up and running again after being dormant and we were able to host an event the first semester back in business!
“The other one that stands out to me is the MET trip we hosted last year. We took a group to the Metropolitan Opera House and saw La Traviata last semester, and it was a lot of fun.”
SNATS at Eastern Connecticut State University is a great opportunity to get involved in the music department and find a sense of community, as well as go on fun trips and experiences.
