New Logo Is A Go: Kinda

Students who predicted Eastern was about to get a new logo were found half-correct today, as another email from the Marketing Department reached our emails. The new logo set to be revealed on the 29th is the new logo for the Athletics department, the current version of which is shown below.

Although the logo is yet to be officially revealed, some merchandise has already been made with the new logo. One such shirt was posted on Fizz last week, and is shown here.

More announcements are to come at the January 29th celebration, now officially named ‘The Big Reveal: Eastern Athletics Part-E’. The Student Center Lobby is set to be repainted in the school’s colors (maroon and blue), and a light-up display will commence at 3:30. Free drinks and snacks, along with free Eastern merchandise such as a limited supply of long-sleeve tees and journals, will be given out. Finally, students will be able to get a digital version of the Eastern passport for the first time.

The event is set to celebrate Eastern’s recent athletic achievements. Eastern’s softball and baseball fields will be returfed, and a new women’s flag football team will begin scrimmages soon. 

While the common theory of a new logo was confirmed, others were refuted. Whispers of the school changing its overall logo, or school colors, seem to be unfounded. Only changes to the athletic logo were mentioned, and the school’s colors were mentioned explicitly as maroon and blue, so a change to the red as one Fizz user suggested seems unlikely.
