Netflix vs. Amazon Prime Video

We all grew up watching Netflix, and many memories were made watching for the first time at home on TV in the 1990s without having to go to the movie theatre. Netflix was founded on August 29, 1997, by Read Hastings and Marc Randolph in Scotts Valley, California.
It started as a DVD rental service in 1997 and launched the Netflix.com website on April 14, 1998. By 2007, it went from DVD to online services, where people were falling in love; rather than young kids, adults were enjoying it. The years have passed, and now Netflix is different from how it started. It has had many big series like Stranger Things and spans many genres, and for a long time Netflix has been number one in people's preferences.
Still, Amazon Prime was also created on September 7, 2006; then, in 2013, it started expanding and producing its own shows. Starting in the 2020s, after COVID, Amazon Prime has gotten better each year, launching series like The Summer I Turned Pretty, which was a complete hit.
Now, have you wondered what's better: Amazon Prime or Netflix? Well, let's compare. Amazon Prime Video offers a mix of its own productions, live sports, and digital rentals, and it is connected to your Amazon Prime account. It has made many recent, well-known romantic productions with modern themes and new releases, which have especially entertained teens.
Meanwhile, Netflix focuses on its own streaming and global originals. Over the past few years, we've seen them copy or make similar films to create competition; for example, Amazon Prime created The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on a love triangle with a girl and two siblings who fell for her, creating romantic tension and dramatic scenes. Netflix created My Life with the Walter Boys, a similar story: a random girl moves in, and there is a love triangle between the two siblings who end up falling for her.
But the copying can be reversed: Netflix created the Bridgerton series, set in the 19th century, and it became a total success and is well known, and Amazon Prime Video created The Buccaneers, a very good series, but you can tell they try to copy Netflix in a way.
When it comes to pricing, Netflix is a membership: Standard with ads is 8.99/month, Standard is 19.99, and Premium is 26.99, and you can only use it to watch shows on Netflix. Amazon Prime Video includes TV series, movies, and a full shopping experience, so you can buy anything, which makes your money go further. A big plus for both is that you can watch anywhere: TV, laptops, iPads, and even in cars.
Both have content for all ages, from babies to older people. You can enjoy each show, and when you have a kid, it's easy to put them on Netflix rather than Amazon Prime. Netflix has more kids' options and is more fun, while Amazon Prime can be limited in that sense; Amazon Prime focuses more on young adults and up. Both are good media platforms to watch when you're bored or having a chill day at home, but the question is: do you prefer Amazon Prime Video or Netflix?
