Eastern Volleyball Sweeps VTSU Castleton, 3–0

The Eastern Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team defeated VTSU Castleton 3–0 on October 2, 2026, at Geissler Gymnasium. The Warriors had a strong offensive and defensive performance throughout the match to earn the sweep.
Eastern finished the match with 43 kills and a .203 team hitting percentage. The Warriors were able to get contributions from several players, which helped the team stay in control throughout all three sets.
Brooke Praskievicz led Eastern with 15 kills on 34 attacks. She finished with a .294 hitting percentage and was one of the team's main offensive players. Emma Robinson also had a strong performance, finishing with nine kills on 17 attacks and a .353 hitting percentage.
Haley Jo Bridges added seven kills and had the highest hitting percentage among Eastern's main attackers at .368. Bridges had seven kills without making an attacking error. Sierra York and Maya Wynn each finished with four kills. York had 21 attacks, while Wynn had 17 attacks and a .176 hitting percentage.
Lyla Passwater also contributed two kills, while Lauren Mosca added one kill in one set of play. The different offensive options helped Eastern keep the pressure on VTSU Castleton throughout the match.
The Warriors also had a strong defensive effort. Sonya Nielsen led the team with 16 digs, while Lauren Lacy finished with 15 digs. Nielsen also recorded four assists during the match. Their defensive work helped Eastern keep rallies going and create more opportunities for the offense.
Eastern's combination of hitting and defense helped the Warriors finish the match without dropping a set. The team was able to stay consistent and get important contributions from players in different areas of the game.
Praskievicz, Robinson and Bridges led the offense, while Nielsen and Lacy helped lead the defensive effort. Eastern's .203 team hitting percentage also showed the Warriors' ability to have a productive night offensively.
The 3–0 victory gave Eastern another strong performance at home. Playing in front of its home crowd at Geissler Gymnasium, the Warriors were able to finish the match with a clean sweep over VTSU Castleton.
Eastern will look to carry the momentum from the win into its upcoming matches as the team continues its season.
